Gross-to-Net Salary Calculator
Estimate your net salary from a gross monthly or annual salary.
This is an estimate, not a real payslip.
The calculation applies an indicative average employee contribution rate based on the selected status. It does not account for your actual personal situation: employer health insurance (mutuelle), income tax withheld at source, bonuses, overtime pay, benefits in kind, your collective bargaining agreement, and so on.
Based on a gross monthly salary of 2 500 € (i.e. 30 000 € per year) and an estimated employee contribution rate of 22 %.
How is this result calculated?
The estimate applies a flat average employee contribution rate to the gross salary: estimated net = gross × (1 − rate).
The rate depends on the selected status: 22% for a non-executive, 25% for an executive (higher supplementary pension contributions). These are indicative ballpark figures, not a precise regulatory calculation.
The annual salary shown is simply the monthly salary multiplied by 12 (and vice versa): this calculator does not handle a 13th-month bonus or other bonuses.
Frequently asked questions
Is this result exact, like on a real payslip?+
No, this is only an estimate. The calculation applies a single flat average employee contribution rate to your gross salary, while a real French payslip applies many separate contributions, calculated in brackets, that vary by company, collective agreement, and personal situation.
What's the difference between the "non-executive" and "executive" rates?+
In France, executive status ("cadre") involves higher supplementary pension contributions (AGIRC-ARRCO) than non-executive status, which results here in a slightly higher overall employee contribution rate: about 25% versus about 22% for a non-executive.
What isn't accounted for in this calculation?+
It does not account for employer-provided health insurance (mutuelle), income tax withheld at source, bonuses, overtime pay, benefits in kind, or the specifics of your collective bargaining agreement or personal tax situation.
Where can I get an official calculation of my net salary?+
For an exact figure, check your actual payslip or use an official French payroll simulator, such as the ones provided by the URSSAF (social security contributions) or the French tax authority's site, impots.gouv.fr, which can also estimate income tax withheld at source on that net amount.
How were the rates used here chosen?+
They reflect commonly cited ballpark figures for the employee share of mandatory French social security contributions for a private-sector employee, rounded to simple values (22% and 25%) to give a quick estimate rather than a precise regulatory calculation.
Is the "net" amount shown what actually lands in my bank account?+
It represents "net before tax", i.e. before income tax withheld at source. The amount actually paid into your account may therefore be further reduced by that withholding, depending on your personal tax rate.
